SG Family Preparedness Planner

A guide for my family — if something happens to me.

Why this tool exists

Most families are unprepared.

When a spouse passes, the surviving partner is often left overwhelmed — not just by grief, but by uncertainty. Where are the insurance policies? Is there a CPF nomination? Which bank accounts are joint? What needs to be done first?

These are not questions anyone should have to figure out alone during the worst time of their lives.

BuddyTools built this planner because preparing a guide for your family shouldn't require a lawyer, a financial adviser, or hours of Googling government websites. It should take 30 minutes. It should be in plain English. And it should leave you with something you can print and store somewhere your family can find it — so when the time comes, they know exactly what to do.

This guide is for the people you love. Fill it in while you can.

How it works

1
Fill in 9 short sections
CPF, insurance, bank accounts, property, key contacts and more. Takes about 20–30 minutes. You can stop and return anytime — your answers save automatically on this device.
2
Review your personalised guide
See a complete action plan for your family — with your specific details filled in against each step.
3
Download and store it safely
Save as a PDF, print it, and keep it somewhere your family can find it. A physical copy is best — in a drawer, a folder, or with your will.

Already using My Legacy? The government's My Legacy (mylegacy.life.gov.sg) portal lets you store advance care plans, CPF nominations, and LPA (Lasting Power of Attorney) in one place, and notify loved ones digitally. This planner is complementary — a human-readable guide your family can hold and act on.
Not legal or financial advice. This planner helps you organise information for your family. For complex estates, wills, or asset distribution questions, please consult a licensed lawyer or financial adviser.
